Young caring hearts

CRAIGHALL PARK- Mandela Day is a day to give your time and care to those in need.

The Grade 3s of St Teresa School were involved in an initiative of a different kind.

Young as they are, they took the time to spread love to the residents of the Reea Foundation in Craighall Park.

The pupils took food and entertained the residents with songs.

The foundation is a non- profit organisation that was established in 1935. They care for adults living with epilepsy and mild mental disorders who cannot be accommodated in a normal family environment.

The centre aims to help the residents with their daily duties, as well as granting them a quality of life where possible.

The pupils’ visit brought joy to the residents of the centre, as they enjoyed the sandwiches, fruit salad, custard and juices that the girls handed out.

The morning ended with a You are special song as the girls stood between the residents giving them a hug before waving goodbye.

The pupils enjoyed their 67 minutes of giving back on Mandela Day.
