Boot camp for those in need

NORWOOD - Every year, a gruelling challenge is put together by Adventure Boot Camp in Norwood, and over the past four years the camp has raised over R100 000 for Cansa, R62 000 for Childhood Cancer Foundation and additional money for other organisations.

In order to complete this challenge, participants of the boot camp need to acquire sponsorships to participate. The money is later donated to organisations in need.

This year, the Adventure Boot Camp, an outdoor adventure programme, decided to raise funds for the Johannesburg Children’s Home which cares for 64 abandoned, abused or neglected children, aged three to 21.

On 18 July, a group of volunteers provided a fun boot camp class for the children at the home, as well as a lunch for the kids.

This year’s camp challenge raised R57 000 for the Johannesburg Children’s Home.
