Raise funds for Ark Animal Centre this Mandela Day

CHARTWELL – DJs Gavin Singh and Michaela K of Hot 91.9FM will be celebrating Mandela Day by hosting a live broadcast from Ark Animal Centre to raise funds for the animal shelter on 17 July.

Ark Animal Centre is one of the leading rehabilitation and re-homing animal shelters in the country, and the only shelter that specifically caters for pregnant dogs and puppies.

The aim is to help raise R1 million so that the centre can build a maternity ward for pregnant doggie mums and a secure community dog walk park.

Make a difference for Mandela Day by joining the centre and the popular DJs for a fun-filled morning and a free breakfast. You can also get involved with helping create a stone path for the centre by making your own stepping stone or help build the park dam – all you’ve got to do is bring a spade.

There’s something for the whole family to do, from washing and playing with pups, to participating in fun activities throughout the day.

Local celebs such as Cito of Wonderboom, Tamarin Jardine who was Miss Earth SA 2012, sports presenter Rikki Brest, and even Twitter’s infamous traffic reporter Pigspotter, to name a few, will also be getting their hands dirty on the day,

If you are not able to make it on the day, you can still contribute by SMSing DONATE FOOD to 48748 to donate R10 to the shelter.

It’s all happening on 17 July from 9am to midday at the Ark Animal Centre, 17 Howard Avenue, Chartwell.
