Community Active Patrol new number
JOHANNESBURG - Community Active Patrol (CAP) has changed its contact details to something that is easier to remember. The old number, 086 180 0018, is no longer in use.
The community must now make use of the new number, 086 122 7227 (0861 CAP CAP).
Glenhazel resident Gerrard Marie-Jones said, “CAP has developed a community approach when it comes to crime prevention. Residents in the areas that they [CAP] patrol are encouraged to report suspicious activity if they come across it. I believe engaging the community prevents a lot of crime and criminal activity.”
According to Marie-Jones, CAP’s response times are impressive. They have foiled a number of attempted burglaries in the area and ever since they pulled into the neighbourhood, residents are feeling more secure.
CAP areas include Bryanston Riverclub North, Emmarentia, Greenside, Glenhazel, Greater Lombardy, Greater Oaklands Orchards, Gresswold, Highlands North, Houghton, Melrose Birdhaven, Norwood, Sandhurst, Sandown Strathavon, Savoy Waverley, Saxonwold, Senderwood Linksfield and Victory Park.
