Rand Aid Association’s charity shop seeks donations

JOBURG - The shelves of the Rand Aid Association's charity shop in Lyndhurst are looking empty and Rand Aid is now appealing to community members to donate good quality items to its shop for resale.

The 112-year-old registered non-profit organisation is urging residents to dispose of any unwanted items to the shop in order to sell to benefit the community. Members of the community are encouraged not only to donate, but to offer their assistance in any other ways to help Rand Aid continue its good work.

The charity shop sells donated clothes, books, bric-a-brac, kitchen utensils, appliances, furniture, ornaments and games to generate income for its social react division, which focuses on assisting the elderly who face financial and social difficulties.

Shops wanting to get rid of old stock are also asked to keep the charity shop in mind as every donation goes a long way.
