Alleged cell phone thief caught on CCTV in barber shop

PARKHURST-An alleged cell phone thief has been caught on CCTV footage in a local barber shop.

It is alleged that a customer stole a cellphone at a local barber shop, Mumbai Xpress Barber Shop.

The store posted a video of the alleged theft on their facebook page and said, “Cell phone chronicles While SAPS (still decide to) prepare a docket of the jumping cell phone – here is the shortened video footage. If you need to see more footage or know who the culprit is, please inbox. In meantime please go wild.”

Jacques Botha, store owner of Mumbai Xpress Barber Shop said,  “A regular customer came to the Barber shop for a hair cut and while the barber was fetching a towel at the back room, the suspect took the chance to steal the phone. The barber realised that his phone was gone. He pleaded with the suspect, whom he followed to a nearby ATM to bring back his phone but the suspect refused, claiming his innocence. The barber has pleaded for his phone back and has filed an affidavit at Parkview Police Station.”

Sgt Lloyd Ramovha from Parkview police station said he is currently unaware of the incident.
