Relentless cop nets his suspect

LOMBARDY EAST - In 2012, a woman was found murdered in her home in Lombardy East.

When police investigated the crime scene they noticed that there had not been any forced entry into the house. The deceased had several stab wounds to the back. Police on duty at the time reported that the deceased’s laptop, digital camera and cellphone had been stolen.

The case has now been allocated to Warrant Officer Matsobane Galane of Sandringham police. Galane did not give up on the case, and now, two years later, has made a breakthrough with one suspect having been arrested.

The accused appeared at the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court on 18 June. Galane said, “The case has been postponed to 22 July for further investigation.”
