Celebrate Parkhurst life

PARKHURST – THE ANNUAL Parkhurst Village Fair will take place in Parkhurst’s Verity Park on 25 July.

In association with headline sponsor, Joburg Style Magazine, this year’s Parkhurst Village Fair promises once again to be a fantastic day out for families, friends and four-legged creatures.

Following the launch of the suburb’s GoGreen community renewable energy initiative, the 2015 Parkhurst Village Fair will have a distinct ‘green’ flavour with various exhibitors displaying their goods to help make the shift to a greener lifestyle.

In addition, the fair will once again showcase all things quintessentially Parkhurst – from mouthwatering food, an amazing pantry section, craft beers, bespoke retailers, live entertainment and a variety of children’s activities to name but a few.

Youngsters will be spoilt for choice with activities in the children’s entertainment area featuring among others, a bike track exclusively for the young ones.

Cheryl Labuschagne, chairperson of the Parkhurst Residents’ and Business Owners’ Association said, “The Parkhurst Village Fair is the flagship event on our annual events calendar and this year’s fair promises to once again raise the bar for curated urban events in Johannesburg.”

Labuschagne added that all funds raised through the fair would go towards the improvement of the suburb.

The event sponsors of the fair are Aromadough, CMH Cars Volvo Bryanston, CSS Tactical, MWEB, Nan Roberts Estates and The Little Ashford Preschool.

Eric Bornman, publisher of Joburg Style Magazine said, “The rise of Parkhurst has added another dimension to what Joburg has to offer both locals and visitors. It is one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the country to live in and an unbelievable destination to experience an authentic street café vibe, great food, coffee, beer and bubbly along with a high street retail experience that you won’t find even in the greatest of our malls.”

The fair is a full day event taking place from 10am to 4pm.

Secure parking will be available for a nominal fee at Parkhurst Primary School, located on the corner of Second Avenue and Thirteenth Street, Parkhurst. All parking funds collected will go towards the upkeep and maintenance of the school.
