Brighten the night

ROSEBANK - The SHOUT foundation, established by celebrities Danny K and Kabelo Mabalale, is set to light the night this July in the name of education.

Ambassadors of the foundation urge the public to take out their walking shoes and torches on 9 July and mount the pavements in a bid to gather funds to build a container library in Alexandra. Entries for the walk close on 4 July and cost R150 per person.

All proceeds go straight to the establishment of the container library, which is set to offer disadvantaged children a warm and welcoming environment aimed to educate and light up their lives.

“We believe that education is the best long-term strategy for fighting crime; [and] for the children of tomorrow to be empowered with an opportunity to get a job and not turn to crime as a way of providing for themselves,” said Danny K.

“We are all accountable for our children…When you can provide something unique that people enjoy doing… In an effort to raise funds for a good cause, then real change is possible.”
