Corsa crashes into U-turning truck on Jan Smuts Ave
CRAIGHALL PARK - A BLUE Opel crashed into a truck doing a U-turn on the corner of Jan Smuts and St Albans avenue on 11 June.
Jason Tyler Black, who was driving the Corsa, explained that he was driving in the right-hand lane while the truck was in the middle lane.
“I was driving down Jan Smuts Avenue in the right lane and the truck was in the middle lane, driving very slowly, I didn’t see that he was turning, and by the time I did see him indicating, I tried to swerve towards the left lane.”
Black explained that he then hit the back of the truck.
The truck driver who wished to remain anonymous said, “I was making a U-turn and I just heard someone crashing behind me. I did not see what happened or see the car approaching,” he said.
Ricky Robinson from Metro Assist said nobody was injured and Emer-G-Med were first to respond to the accident.
