Plans to make Zoo Lake green again
SAXONWOLD - Zoo Lake User’s Group committee chairperson Frances Haslam, said they have major plans for Zoo Lake, one of which is to keep it safe.
Their aim is to enforce and implement safety measures, which at the moment are not evident. “We also want to have the entire park clean and green again like it was when I was growing up,” said Haslem.
Haslem said the vagrants squatting at the culvert area are a major concern, but the committee is aware of the problem and has future plans to deal with it. “We also ask that the City could help with this issue,” he said.
“We also have plans to put signage boards around the entire area that will explain the rules of conduct when visiting Zoo Lake and we [hope that people… abide by them.”
According to Haslam, they are working in conjunction with the City on the area’s master plan and encourage the community to get involved.
