Quondam Retirement Village’s new community centre opens its doors

The retirement village trust chairperson Barry Ireland said, “For some time now, village residents have been asking for their own space to facilitate the many activities they enjoy doing together.”

According to the retirement village, the opening was a much-anticipated event as they were excited about having exercise classes, morning and afternoon teas, pedicures, movie nights, games evenings and even a night looking up at the stars at the centre. It will also be used to host annual dinners and events and meetings held by the trust.

Quondam’s longest resident, Alice Rademeyer, was the first to move into the village in October 2008. She was by herself for two weeks before other residents started to move in and she is excited to finally witness the opening of the community centre.
