Father and daughter held up at gunpoint, abducted, robbed

EMMARENTIA - A CASE of house robbery is currently under investigation after Emmarentia residents were robbed by six armed suspects dressed in what appeared to be police reflector jackets, driving a black Audi and blue Golf, just before 2pm on 30 May.

According to Parkview police spokesperson, Lloyd Ramovha, a father and his daughter were forced to stop after their car was sandwiched between the suspects’ two cars on Orange Road, Emmarentia.

Ramovha explained that the victims were forced out of their car.

“They were then threatened with firearms, handcuffed and bundled into the backseat of the Audi,” he said.

The suspects then proceeded to the victims’ home. The robbers managed to steal several valuables, including Kruger coins valued at an undisclosed amount.

No arrests have been made.

Parkview police have appealed to anyone with any information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators to come forward.

“We urge members of the public to be vigilant at all times, one can never be too careful when it comes to safety. If you suspect you are being followed, call the police or your security provider as many of them have a home escort service as an added benefit,” Ramovha said.
