Allergy Alive to host courses that save lives

Allergy Alive, a patient-advocacy non-profit organisation, held a training session for principals, teachers, community workers and mothers at the Pinmill Farm office park in Sandton on 31 May.

Founder of Allergy Alive, Hayley Katz, presented the local and global realities of severe allergic disorder, which includes the socio-economic and psychological effects of living with such a disorder.

The medical components of the course, run by Yudi Singer, an advanced life support paramedic, covered CPR training with a special focus on allergy, anaphylaxis and related asthma conditions.

Allergy Alive was founded from the need to address the many challenges experienced by families affected by severe allergic disorder in South Africa.

The organisation will offer further courses to the public and to those who suffer from the disorder, have loved ones affected by this disorder, or would like training for families or the community.
