Care centre get new water tank

LYNDHURST - Ron Smith Care Centre has installed JoJo waters tank to guard against water supply interruptions.

The water tanks have a combined capacity of 40 000 litres and will be connected to the centre’s water reticulation system.

Helen Petrie, who heads up Ron Smith Care Centre and Elphin Lodge retirement village said, “Many residents will remember the inconvenience in December last year when the municipal water supply pipe to our property was washed away and water had to be carried in for personal ablutions.”

The water tank project cost R232 000 and was funded by the RAA Welfare Development Trust.

An alarm system with SMS notification is also being installed to alert management when the centre starts drawing on its emergency water supply.
