According to Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, who is on scene, arrests are being made by police.
He added that the exact area in which the shootout took place was between Corlett Drive and Grayston Drive, on the M1 highway.
Traffic is still seriously affected and motorists are urged to avoid the area if possible.

According to @PigSpotter an AK47 with ammunition as well as a camera with photos of a house has been found at the scene.
He added that a suspect has been arrested while one is still at large, having fled in a Red Polo.

Police sources said emergency services and the police K9 unit are now at the scene looking for the suspect.
Traffic is at a standstill on Grayston Drive. Motorists are urged to avoid if possible.
Journalist Gugu Zwane is on her way to the scene.
