Animal behaviour under the spotlight

JOBURG - Nature guide, author and environmentalist Neil Heron will talk on animal behaviour at the Modderfontein Town Hall at 7.30pm on 21 May.

Heron of Bearded Heron Safaris is an Edenvale resident, and has many years experience in guiding local and international visitors in the Kruger National Park, an area in which he specialises in. He is well known for his incredible and sometimes controversial insights, interpretations and bush skills when it comes to African wildlife and game viewing.

In addition to his talk, copies of his Facts and Faeces Birthday Calendar will be for sale. This is an unusual but informative ‘poop guide’ that features facts about the droppings of different Kruger Park animals. Part of the proceeds of the calendar are donated to SANParks Honorary Rangers and the fight against rhino poaching in the Kruger Park.

Why do zebras have stripes? Do otters have webbed feet? Can female monitor lizards reproduce without a male? These are just a few questions that one could ask when Heron talks on animal behaviour.

Details: 011 452 2201.
