According to newly-appointed Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel Samuel Mohlanga, three men between the ages of 24 and 37 were arrested after their vehicle was spotted in Rooseveldt.
Captain Sandile Mkhize said, “They are definitely linked to the cases of stolen cars which have been previously reported.”
Mkhize explained that the police received information of the suspects’ whereabouts on 2 May, “We looked in Parkhurst until the suspects’ vehicle was spotted in Rooseveldt Park,” he said.

The three suspects were arrested on Beyers Naude Drive after a police chase, which ended in the suspects’ car colliding into a pavement and losing control.
Upon their arrest, police also recovered false registration plates, vehicle computer boxes, a spare wheel and a car radio.
The three suspects will appear in the Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court on 4 May.
