Taxi owner shot in Parktown

PARKTOWN -  The South African Police Service Twitter page announced that a taxi owner was shot and killed in Parktown. 

Provincial police spokesperson Kay Makhubela confirmed the incident. He said it took place on 1 May at 2pm. He said three suspects were involved and confirmed they were driving a Polo.

Rosebank Killarney Gazette is following up with BP’s press office and the investigating officer of the case. Updates to follow as more information is revealed.

2 May, 8am:

According to the tweet, the man was at a BP garage when he was shot by two unknown men.

Intelligence Bureau SA  posted a comment on Facebook saying the two suspects shot the taxi owner at a garage on Empire Road. The two men were allegedly driving a silver grey Polo Vivo. “Driver was shot with eight rounds while he was busy putting in petrol,” the post continued to say.
