A major vehicle accident took place on the corner of Jan Smuts and Hillcrest Avenues at about 4pm.
It is believed that a taxi collided with a white Audi.
According to paramedics at the scene, there are 18 people injured and 5 ambulances at the scene as well as a fire truck and 6 response vehicles.
Chayenne Davis, an Emer-G-Med paramedic, “The patients suffered minor to moderate injuries and are currently being treated at the scene.”
The crash has caused heavy traffic on Jan Smuts Avenue.
It is believed that school children, in uniform, are involved in the crash as well.
The injured are being taken away on stretchers to hospital for further treatment.
