Meet your new Miss SA

PILANSBERG – Finally, after months of hard work and years of dreaming, Miss SA crowned their newest queen for 2015.

Hosted by Proverb and Lalla Hirayama, the Miss SA crowning ceremony was held in Sun City’s Superbowl, with hordes of fans and supporters turned out in anticipation of the crowning of one of the 12 eligible ladies.

It was a star-studded event, with Joburg’s elite kitted out in glamourous outfits for the prestigious event.

Featured in the line-up was South Africa’s beloved alternative band, Beatenberg, along with up-and-coming Gangs of Ballet and South Africa’s king of hip-hop himself, AKA, who delivered a memorable performance that got the crowd on their feet.

In a departure from previous years, the 12 finalists were able to choose their favourite past Miss SA to mentor them throughout their journey, and so it was a memorable event seeing Miss SA’s past and present teaming up and delivering a unique show.

The panel of esteemed judges was made up of ex-Destiny Man editor and entrepreneur, Kojo Baffoe; the queen of South African soapies, Sophie Ndaba; former Miss World 2015, Anneline Kriel; and fashion designer Casper Bosman.

By the end of the event, Gauteng’s very own Liesl Laurie, representing Eldorado Park, emerged victorious and was crowned Miss SA for 2015.
