Jozi family enjoy prize of Australia trip to watch Proteas compete

JOBURG - It was an experience of a lifetime for the the Coetzer family when they got the opportunity to go to Australia to watch the 2015 Cricket World Cup.

The Saxonwold residents watched the exciting tournament courtesy of KFC, sponsors of the Mini-Cricket tournament.

Debbie Coetzer, who won the prize, described the trip and the various places she and her family got to visit during the trip.

“We visited so many places, including the Federation Square, the Skydeck, Bondi beach, Taronga Zoo and the Sydney Opera House,” she said.

She added that it was their first time visiting Australia and described Melbourne and Sydney as the best cities they’ve visited thus far.

The family also got an opportunity to meet the Proteas, with Coetzer saying it was the highlight of her daughter’s trip.

“Meeting the players was my daughter Georgina’s ultimate experience [as] she is crazy about cricket. She particularly loved meeting David Miller, Dale Steyn and Faf du Plessis,” she said.

Coetzer thanked KFC for the wonderful experience and urged the fast-food franchise to “continue making other people’s dreams come true”.

The 2015 Cricket World Cup took place in Australia and New Zealand and ran from 14 February to 28 March.
