Savika comes to the party

LOMBARDY EAST- RESIDENTS from the Lombardy East, Rembrandt Park and Rembrandt Ridge community were impressed by Savika, a tactical armed response company.

Savika is holding open days until the end of March in Lombardy East, and recently hosted a family fun day on 14 March opposite the Engen garage to provide the community with further information about the company. Their aim is to prevent crime and protect residents of Lombardy East, Rembrandt Park, Rembrandt Ridge and surrounding areas, and had all their off-duty staff come out on the day.

Resident Victoria Avilo said, “The crime situation is completely out of control. The resident community initiative, Block Watch are putting their lives at risk on a daily basis in order to protect the community.

“I need to emphasise to the public that we are in dire need of a company that will commit to protecting the residents of Lombardy East and Rembrandt Park.”

Savika tactical response vehicles line to show their interest in the area.

Craig van der Plank of the Lombardy East Block Watch said, “Savika dedicated a vehicle on 5 March to patrol Lombardy East and the surrounding areas. They required zero sign ups and did not provide residents with quotas in order to show their interest. “This has been achieved due to the hard work and dedication of many community members. Other initiatives to get an interested security company have taken two-and-a-half years to get off the ground because they required a certain amount of money in order to put a patrol vehicle in the area.

“Crime has no quota and kept on increasing. Savika has a proactive approach, which is what the community needed desperately in order to feel safe.”

It was mentioned by residents in a recent executive Community Police Forum meeting in Lombardy East that crime in areas surrounding Lombardy East, Rembrandt Park and Rembrandt Ridge have decreased as a result of a Block Watch community initiative. The Block Watch initiative still carries on whether they have a proactive security company in the area or not.

On 6 March, the managing director and operations manager assisted Block Watch patrollers until 3am on Saturday ensuring that the community was safe.
