UPDATE: Edna Mamonyanye of the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police said, “A silver Chevy Spark knocked over a pedestrian on Pritchard Street. The incident took place at roughly 8.45am. The pedestrian sustained serious injuries to his head and was taken to Johannesburg General Hospital. An investigation into the incident is ongoing by The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police.”
Initial report: Paramedics from ER24 Johannesburg South branch found a male sprawled on the pavement surrounded by a group of bystanders.
After an examination the paramedics discovered that the injured male was in a critical condition as a result of severe injuries to his head and chest.
Paramedics performed rapid life support and transported him to the Johannesburg General Hospital for further treatment.
