Hotpod Yoga comes to South Africa

JOBURG - Hotpod Yoga is a revolutionary yoga concept, born in the United Kingdom, and is creating a major buzz throughout the world.

The innovative inflatable heated pods are portable, hygienic and practical, and also provide an exceptional yoga environment – giving way to a unique brand of yoga that is accessible to everyone.

In the most material sense, Hotpod Yoga is the first business to develop portable hot yoga studios.

Originating in London, founders Nick Higgins and Max Henderson had a simple mission: to make the benefits of hot yoga accessible in as many ways as possible.

Hotpod Yoga is coming to South Africa courtesy of Daniela de Bruyn – yogi, mom, marketer and Jozi’s Hotpod Yogini.

She did her Yoga teacher training at Yoga Vidya Gurukul (Yoga University) in Nassik, Maharashta India and started teaching vinyasa yoga classes in 2013 with Yogi Love in Pretoria.

“Hotpod Yoga is ideal for people living a busy lifestyle; it’s high impact and at the same time very relaxing. Once you step inside the pod, the outside world disappears, leaving you free to focus on your body and your breath. “The Hotpods are magical spaces of bliss and of balance: the body gets a workout and the mind an escape from daily routines,” said Daniela de Bruyn.

Signature Hotpod Yoga classes are based on classic Vinyasa-flow yoga – a balanced sequence of active and passive postures, synchronised with the breath and it is loaded with mental and physical benefits.

Each hour-long class is designed to be friendly and non-competitive, hugely accessible, yet challenging enough for the experienced yogi.

On average, 700 calories are burnt during one class, making Hotpod Yoga classes ideal for those wanting to lose weight, tone up, detox and de-stress.

Hotpod Yoga will launch on 22 March in Greenside where the public can attend free introductory classes.
