The driver of the Hyundai, Andi Obi explained, “Another driver tried to turn. I didn’t see the girl in the other car. We collided and I swerved into the wall [in an attempt to avoid the Kia].”
Metro police officer, Johannes Tladi said, “We suspect that either one of the cars was driving over the speed limit.” Tladi said the vehicles had been removed and charges had not been brought against either of the drivers. “No charge of reckless and negligent driving, at this stage, will be laid [pending further investigation].”
Tladi said the Hyundai lost control and drove into the wall. According to paramedics at the scene, both drivers sustained minor injuries.
