Murder suspect sentenced to 14 years

YEOVILLE - THE JOHANNESBURG Magistrates' Court sentenced a murder suspect to 14 years in prison on 2 March.

The accused, Charlie Mduli allegedly had an argument with his girlfriend at the corner of Raleigh and Fortesque roads in Yeoville last year. He allegedly stabbed her and she was rushed off to hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Mduli fled the scene and after Yeoville police had launched a manhunt he was apprehended.

Constable Thabo Malatji of Yeoville police said, “The hard work and the dedication by those who worked on the case ensured that the suspect was brought to

justice.”

Yeoville police station commander, Colonel Mpe Motaung congratulated Constable Bongani Shihangule for his hard work in ensuring the suspect was convicted.
