Initial report: 2 March 2015, 4pm – A man has been found dead at a homeowner’s property in Lombardy East earlier today.

It is believed that the owner of the property, David Wallie, stopped at home to pick up some money for his child’s school fees and noticed a man lying on his pavement lawn. The homeowner assumed that the man was drunk and asleep.

He tried to wake up the man up but failed. The homeowner then called his wife, Busi, who is an employee at the Joburg North Caxton office.

Busi said, “I called my tenant at the property to find out what was going on. She informed me that the man was dead and that the police are at the scene. The police officers at the scene were  extremely unhelpful as they did not even know the phone number of an ambulance service. I was forced to search on Google for an ambulance service. The man’s body is just laying on the side of the road with a bottle of alcohol in his hand.”

An eye witness at the scene, Freda Lonsina, said, Ï was walking down the road when i noticed a huge commotion at the corner of Cromwell and Wordsworth streets. A man was tapping a man who was lying on the floor but he was not moving.”
