Change one thing; change everything

JOBURG - Random Acts of Kindness 2015 (#RAK15) has officially begun for this year and will continue the good work initiated by Brent Lindeque last year.

It was last year when the #neknominations went viral on the internet, daring people to drink a pint of an alcoholic beverage all at once and nominate others to do the same.

Instead of downing a beer, Lindeque decided to give a homeless man a R20 meal, encouraging others to do the same and ‘pay it forward’, thus random acts of kindness was launched.

For #RAK15, Lindeque appeals to the public to ‘change one thing’ and in doing so, ‘change everything’.

The initiative reached more than 1 million people last year and so, in efforts to change more lives through random acts of kindness, a website was set up where the public can view all the other random acts from all over the world.

Lindeque is not only encouraging the public to perform random acts of kindness, but also companies to get involved with #RAK15 in the same way and magnitude as they did last year.

Having begun on 1 February, the campaign is in full effect and taking nominations continuously.

Lindeque says that people should not wait to be nominated and should not wait to make nominations.
