Oscar films to be screened at Cinema Nouveau
JOBURG - If you’re wondering what all the fuss is about surrounding the Oscar nominees, then you may want to catch up on the nominated films.
Oscar fever is in the air as Hollywood readies itself to host the biggest and most glamorous night of the year – the 87th Academy Awards ceremony on 22 February.
In an effort to ensure that movie buffs have the opportunity to watch and evaluate all these films, Cinema Nouveau is pre-releasing four of the Oscar-nominated titles, each film for one screening only, from 16 to 19 February.
The four films lined up for the pre-screenings are: Whiplash on 16 February; The Theory of Everything on 17 February; American Sniper on 18 February and Wild on 19 February.
The films will all be screened at 8pm each evening at the four Cinema Nouveau complexes around the country – Rosebank Mall in Johannesburg, Brooklyn Mall in Pretoria, Gateway in Durban, and the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.
