Killarney Mall welcomes pop-up art store

KILLARNEY - KILLARNEY Mall has officially opened its pop-up art store, ArtZone.

ArtZone pop-up art store is the newest addition to Killarney Mall and will only showcase art for a short time – in true pop-up store style.

The opening of the store on 11 February saw hoards of people in attendance to revel in the artworks from various artists around the world.

The store is co-ordinated by artist and author Shani Krebs, who also happens to be an ex-convict of a prison in Thailand.

Unfortunately, the pop-up store fell victim to load shedding in the area just half an hour before the expected start of the event, but this did not deter guests or the artists and the night continued merrily, with artists, friends and family reuniting.

ArtZone showcases the works of various artists including South African-born Chicago resident gARTh.

The pop-up store is a place that provides artists with the space to be seen, grow their art careers and showcase their work as up-and-coming artists.

Art lovers from far and wide were able to view the pieces of their favourite artists, although viewing was done in the dark at some point. Guests were treated to snacks, live music and drinks throughout the night.
