JOHANNESBURG – The city is filled with helpful Samaritans and with the erratic electricity outage schedule (and cable theft), these helpful folk are at it again.

A beggar on Johannesburg’s busy Empire Road is helping motorists by directing traffic while the traffic lights are off.

The good deed being performed by the man was recently reported and since then, Twitter users have expressed their appreciation for the assistance he’s been giving on one of Joburg’s busiest roads.

This man is not the first to assist Joburg in a little way – remembering the traffic light teacher who was also spotted on Empire Road and the topless ‘traffic cop’ who helped motorists on Jan Smuts Drive.
