Couple enjoys 72 years together

SANDRINGHAM - A COUPLE who reside at the Sandringham Gardens old age home in Sandringham both shared their birthdays on the same date; however Pauline and Abe Simpson are ten years apart from each other.

Abe is 103 and Pauline is 93. They have been happily married for 72 years.

Abe is a World War Two veteran who fought proudly for the South African/British army in Italy and Egypt and enjoyed walking at his 100th birthday; while Pauline was an active tennis player at 89, a bowls player up until 92 and still enjoys playing bridge at 93.

A close member of the family said, “Abe’s sister Rose Simpson is currently still healthy at 106, Abe originally had eight siblings and Pauline had a mere six in comparison. So it was and still is a big family.”
