Samsung Sandton City attempts to break world record
SANDTON – Samsung and Sandton City Shopping Centre will attempt to break a Guinness World Record on 31 January.
Sandton City Shopping Centre and Samsung have invited all Gauteng residents and visitors to attend their event in attempts to break the Guinness World Record for the most ‘selfies’ taken in 24 hours.
From 3pm on Friday to 3pm on Saturday, they will be letting people take ‘selfies’. Throughout the 24-hour period, there will be 100 Galaxy A-Series smartphones up for grabs.
Samsung and non-Samsung users around Gauteng have expressed their excitement at the event and are, for the most part, intent on attending the function in order to secure their spot and become part of the new Guinness World Record that will be set.
Samsung user Janine Taylor frequents Sandton City and says she always pops into the store to check out what’s new and hot.
“I’m excited to be a part of the Guinness World Record for the most ‘selfies’ taken in 24 hours! In my generation, ‘selfies’ are the biggest trend and I don’t see it dying this year, so we can definitely set the record!”
