Murder victim to be remembered

ORANGE GROVE - FOLLOWING the brutal murder of a woman in Orange Grove on 25 January, the victim's body has been transported by the family to Kimberly for burial.

The victim is believed to have originated from Kimberley.

The victim’s mother, father and three children currently reside in Kimberley. The incident shocked local residents of Orange Grove and sent a wave of protest as to the nature of the victim’s death among the community.

A Gap security guard discovered the victim’s body at 5am on 25 January. It is believed that the victim was raped and then strangled.

The Norwood police arrived at the scene at 6am on 25 January.

The Norwood Community Police Forum have taken proactive steps to put pressure on the Norwood police in order to solve the heinous crime. The forum’s monthly meeting will be held at the Norwood police barracks at 6pm on 28 January where they will discuss the matter and a possible march in protest of the atrocious murder.

Sergeant Nurse Sanyane of the Norwood police said, “We are working round the clock when it comes to this case. The Norwood police are appealing to the public to come forward regarding any information regarding the murder.”
