This after a fourth alleged incident involving the armed motorcycle robber was reported in Parktown North.
Local residents claim that another woman was robbed at gunpoint on 3rd Avenue in Parktown North at around midday on 26 January, reportedly by a man wearing a black helmet on a motorbike.
Though there have been contradicting reports on the exact details of the incident, Parkview police have confirmed that three similar incidents in the area of Parkhurst have already occurred involving a suspect with a similar description.
According to Colonel Nanda Moodley, there was a sector police vehicle on patrol who spotted a man on a motorcycle on the same day.
The police vehicle reportedly chased the man on the motorcycle, but failed to catch up with him. The exact time this chase took place could not be confirmed.
Moodley also noted that there has been no case opened yet at the police station regarding the incident. He stated that it may have been possible that the female victim was not aware that the police had pursued the suspect on the same day.
Moodley furthered warned the community to remain vigilant, especially when travelling to their parked vehicles in the business nodes.
CSS Tactical reportedly issued the following statement: Please be on the lookout for a male riding a black superbike, wearing dark clothing and a helmet. He is armed and targeting females walking to their cars, demanding jewellery and cash. This suspect has been involved in three incidents in the Parkhurst area.
