CPF calls for action against crime after brutal rape

NORWOOD - In the wake of another incident of senseless violence, Norwood Community Policing Forum (CPF) is calling on its residents to get involved.

Members of the Norwood CPF are calling on the community to get more involved in security and safety after the alleged brutal rape and murder of an Orange Grove woman over the weekend.

It is time for the community to overcome its apathy and step up to ensure the safety of all, urged CPF spokesperson Debi Cox.

With the forum’s annual general meeting and committee elections coming up in the first half of this year, the organisation is seeking to increase involvement of the community, and urges residents to attend monthly meetings where they can participate in resolving the area’s concerns.

The forum is also planning a march on Norwood Police Station to raise awareness of such brutal crimes in the area, and to call on both police and residents to take action.

Norwood CPF meetings are held on the last Wednesday of every month at 6pm in the boardroom at Norwood Police Station barracks. The next meeting will take place on 28 January.
