Best love of all back by popular demand

BRAAMFONTEIN - Accompanied by a band and dancers, songstress Belinda Davids paid tribute to one of the world’s most revered singers, Whitney Houston.

Port Elizabeth-born Davids made a spectacular return to the Joburg Theatre on 22 January.

Not long after debuting with a sold-out six-week run late last year, the beautiful Davids again put on her Houston act to wow more audiences and performed more than two hours of the pop queen’s hits.

With an impeccable voice and a fun, touching and uplifting stage personality, it is evident once she gets on stage that no one could do it better.

“I want people to come and remember Whitney when she was at the top of her game and when she was fabulous,” said Davids during her performance.

Thousands of hopefuls had auditioned for the part of Houston, but producer John Van Grinsven was convinced that Davids would fit the part perfectly.

This was evident when the Joburg audience couldn’t get enough of her as they cheered her on when they weren’t singing along or getting up to dance.

The show includes Houston’s most popular tracks of her career including, I will always love you, I Wanna dance with somebody, Didn’t we almost have it all, I’m every woman, Exhale (Shoop Shoop), Million dollar bill and more.
