According to Russel Meiring, the communications officer for ER24, a truck carrying paint has overturned and disposed of its materials on a light weight motor vehicle.
Meiring further confirmed that three people are currently trapped in the car and emergency services are attempting to attend to them at this moment. Two people are confirmed to have died.
A taxi was also involved in the accident and 10 to 15 passengers have sustained minor injuries. A second truck was affected by this accident.
Metro police spokesperson Edna Mamonyane has confirmed that Metro police are on their way to the scene to attend to the influx of pedestrians and other road users rubber-necking.
A video has emerged showing the aftermath of the accident and the various vehicles involved in the incident can be seen.
