Man dies after being thrown from third floor

YEOVILLE – YEOVILLE police arrested three men for murder after they allegedly threw a man to his death from the third floor of a building.

According to police they received the complaint from residents of a building on the corner of Bezuidenhout and Hunter streets.

Yeoville police spokesperson Constable Thabo Malatji said upon arrival, police found the body of a man lying in a pool of blood on the pavement.

Malatji said, “It was pointed out that the deceased was thrown out of a building by three men from a balcony.”

He said it was believed that there had been an argument between the deceased and the suspects before they threw him off the balcony. Malatji said it was unclear what they were arguing about. He stated that the eyewitnesses were the ones who called the police.

Malatji said the three alleged perpetrators were arrested in the same building for murder after they were pointed out by members of the community. They were detained at Yeoville Police Station.

The suspects, aged 37, 45 and 36 are expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court to face charges of murder. The deceased was 30 years old.

Malatji added, “We thank the members of the community for their help with the arrest of the suspects.”
