YEOVILLE – It is just a few days into 16 Days of Activism for no Violence Against Women and Children but Yeoville police are on a manhunt for a suspect who strangled a woman to death.

Yeoville police spokesperson Constable Thabo Malatji said, “The police received a complaint from Time Square Top Lodge at the corner of Fortesque Road and Raleigh Street. The police drove to the place of the incident and on arrival the police found a half-naked body of a woman lying on the floor in one of the rooms.”

He said it was suspected that the woman had been strangled.

Malatji said, “We appeal to anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect to contact the police.”

In a separate incident, two men were arrested for being in possession of drugs at the corner of Grafton Road and Webb Street.
