Giving from the heart

JOBURG - Midrand-based construction business, Brook Kerith Civil and Building Projects, put smiles on the faces of the children and care givers at the Nazareth Children’s Home in Yeoville.

On 8 November, the business team went to the home bearing fruit and vegetable seedlings for planting, food supplies, and clothing and nappies for the young abandoned and orphaned children. The day was full of purpose and fun for the children.

A cook out was the order of the day, with some of the children joining the business’ team in the kitchen, while others worked on the sustainable garden which will provide the home with a continuous supply of vegetables such as spinach, carrots, potatoes, mielies and watermelons, among other healthy and nourishing foods.

“We are happy to be able to give back to the needy, particularly at this time of the year when the spirit of giving is in the air,” said Khanyisile Madlala from the company.

“We felt it was important as a company to not only shower the adopted home with gifts and festivities, but provide them with a garden that will sustain them. We have committed ourselves to expanding the garden each season of every year.”

The home cares for 30 children, giving them support and care for their physical and spiritual needs. They also provide 24-hour care, housing, food, clothing, education and specialised nursing and medication for their residents.
