Parkview celebrates Halloween

PARKVIEW - George Hay Park was packed to capacity as hundreds of residents showed up in arrays of creative costumes for Halloween.

Children of all ages, along with adults, dressed in an array of witches, ghouls, zombies, ghosts and movie characters for Halloween in the park.

Some families choose matching costumes while others preferred to fully disguise their faces in paint, fake blood and masks.

Organised by the Parkview Residents’ Association, the event held best dressed competitions for different categories and hosted several food and game stalls, while sponsors provided prizes and covered general services such as medical assistance, extra security and liability cover.

High School pupils from various neighbouring schools added mileage to their community service by assisting with the set up and running of the stalls.

Children participated in mass trick or treating later in the evening and stocked their baskets with enough confectionery to last into the new year.

Proceeds made from the event went to the Nicarela Charity, who will also be hosting the Parkview Christmas Market from 28 to 30 November at George Hay Park.
