Popoyi was allegedly murdered on 7 October at the Dollar Table restaurant and bar in Melville.
Police have arrested the owner of the bar Sydney Moshapo who was subsequently released on bail.
The incident has prompted the Greenside Residents Association to tighten efforts on restricting similar establishments that trade illegally in the area.
