JUMA mountain bike road closures

JOBURG – Residents in the Parks can expect road closures and traffic disruptions due to the JUMA mountain bike event on Sunday, 12 October.

Ward 117 Councillor Tim Truluck said suburbs like Parkhurst, Saxonwold, Greenside, Emmarentia, Melrose and others will be affected.

“I expect there won’t be full closures and traffic will be allowed through when there are gaps in the cyclists – but expect delays and be patient,” he said in a Newsletter.

Truluck added, “Of course, the cycle routes along the spruits and parks will also be full of cyclists. I am sure they would welcome a wave and a cheer as they pass by. Just be mindful of the race when out walking your dog.”

The most affected suburbs are Saxonwold, Greenside and Parkhurst. Roads that will be affected include:

• Victory Road

• Cotswold Drive and Jan Smuts Avenue

• Braeside and Link Roads (expect Cruden Bay Road to be affected)
