Internationally renowned buddhist nun to give talk on mindfulness

CRAIGHALL PARK - BUDDHIST nun and internationally-renowned teacher, Gen-la Kunsang will give an inspiring public talk with clear and practical instructions on purifying states of mind that create limitation and suffering.

She will explain tried and tested methods to develop positive states of mind to vastly improve lives, giving the ability to stay happy, peaceful and positive in the face of everyday challenges.

The talk will be based on the highly-acclaimed book, Modern Buddhism, and will be introduced by a guided meditation, which she said will enable visitors to experience the peace and freedom of a positive and undistracted mind. There is a bookshop, and refreshments will be provided.

Everyone is welcome.

Gen-la Kunsang is the deputy spiritual director of the New Kadampa Tradition, an international Buddhist tradition dedicated to world peace.

Tickets for the talk cost R70 including refreshments if purchased online or R80 at the door.

All proceeds from the event are donated to the International Temples Project, a project for world peace.

The talk will be held on 4 November, 7pm to 8.30pm at Craighall Primary School, on the corner of Rothesay and Grosvenor roads.
