UPDATE: Police investigating murder of 55-year-old doctor

PARKVIEW – Police are investigating the death of a 55-year-old radiologist who was found dead in her Parkview home on 2 October.

UPDATE: 6 October 2014, 16:15pm – Police have said that no additional information is available at this stage after a 55-year-old woman was murdered in her Parkview home on Thursday afternoon.

On Friday, police confirmed that the woman’s domestic worker had been questioned after disappearing without a trace after the murder. She returned on Friday and reported to the police station. Police have not confirmed whether or not the domestic worker is a suspect in the investigation.

The murdered woman left behind two dogs, who have since been adopted by neighbours.

UPDATE: 4:40pm, 3 October 2014 – The domestic worker returned this morning only to discover that her boss is no more.

She learned this from the security staff who are guarding the property. She has just been with the police at the station for a mandatory interview. Investigation is still underway.

Murdered woman’s dogs seek new home

UPDATE: 10AM, 3 October 2014 – THERE is still no sign of a domestic worker who is believed to have been abducted from a murder scene.

Parkview police confirmed on 3 October that they have no more information. This after the murder of a 55-year-old radiologist who was found dead in her Parkview home a day before.

The woman’s domestic worker is suspected to have been abducted, as her handbag was still at the home and she was missing when police arrived on the scene.

Spokesperson, Sergeant Lloyd Ramovha said police were investigating, but there was no news of the missing employee.

He appealed to anyone who may have information that could lead to an arrest to come forward.

UPDATE: 5pm, 2 October 2014 – Police said security company, ADT received a panic alarm from the Donegal Avenue home. Spokesperson Sergeant Lloyd Ramovha said when security officials arrived on the scene, they found the woman lying in a pool of blood “with a stab wound to her neck and barely alive”.

Ramovha said there were no signs of forced entry to the property and no valuable items seemed to be missing. A murder docket had been opened and an investigation was underway.

Meanwhile, Ward 87 councillor Amanda Forsythe said she was shocked by the tragic event as Parkview was one of the safest suburbs in her ward.

Forsythe said the woman lived alone. She added that they were worried that the woman’s domestic worker could have been abducted as her handbag was still at the home and she was missing.

Ramovha appealed to anyone who may have information that could lead to an arrest to come forward.

Initial report: 16:32pm, 2 October 2014 The Rosebank Killarney Gazette has received reports that a 55-year-old woman was stabbed to death in her Parkview home a few hours ago.

According to ward councillor  of Parkview, Amanda Forsythe, there are rumours that the domestic worker has been abducted from the home as well.

Police are at the scene.
