Thornhill Manor’s community is counting down the days to the Family Fun Day and Fete, which will take place at the retirement village on 11 October. The fete promises residents and families a chance to do some early Christmas shopping at the stalls which will sell a range of high-quality goods. Food stalls, tea and beer gardens, lively music and entertainment will ensure all members of the family will enjoy the day.
For those with a lucky streak, three raffle draws offer luxurious prizes, from a pamper hamper including champagne and spa vouchers, to a spirit and snack hamper and a vase hamper containing flowers and chocolates. The money raised from the raffles will contribute to the Rand Aid retirement village’s ‘Magic Bus Fund’, which aims to finish paying off a recently acquired 19-seater bus.
Thornhill Manor’s Jackie Scott promises that the village’s 10th fete will be bigger and better than before, with plenty of activities to occupy young visitors as well.
“The white elephant stall has some interesting high-end offerings this year; an ice-cream stall will sell wickedly delicious flavours, and there are even more outside stalls than last year,” she enthused.
