Fake cop nabbed

According to the police, they were called to Time Square Bar at the corner of Raleigh Street and Fortesque Road.

Yeoville police spokesperson Constable Thabo Malatji stated that when police arrived they were told about a man who was threatening people with a firearm and telling them that he was a police officer.

Mlatji said, “On arrival the suspect was pointed out by the security guard and the police searched him and found a toy gun and handcuffs on his possession. The 28-year-old suspect was arrested for impersonating a police officer and was detained at Yeoville police station. He is expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon.
