Decent attempt at breaking world record

PARKVIEW - More than 200 people showed up to try help chocolate company Nestle break a Guinness world record, but the attempt fell short due to a shortage of participants.

The company was attempting a world record for the longest human chain to pass through a hula hoop as part of its Nestlé Healthylicious Health and Wellness Day, which was open to the public.

The record-breaking attempt was aimed at highlighting World Heart Day on 29 September, and to encourage South Africans to stay fit and healthy through fun activities for the whole family.

The lack of a record-setting day did not diminish the fun all the participants had on the day.

With 214 tags accounted for, the organisers came up a good 292 participants short of the world record.

The age group of participants varied from four years to 78.
